As a part of different agile teams at TomTom, a major global player in the field of satellite navigation and mapping technologies, I was responsible for the user experience of several mobile apps for both Android and iOS. I also helped in the development of applications for desktop and web, and in-car dashboard navigation systems for our automotive customers.
By using a user user-centered design approach, I helped ATAG design an oven with features that people actually want to use in their kitchens. We created an award-winning product that can support experienced cooks while at the same time guiding novice users.

I was asked to help out in the concept development of Pontual, a simple app that takes advantage of your GPS position and readily available online time tables in order to let you know when to start cycling to catch that elusive ferry.
Nefit (a Bosch brand) commissioned VanBerlo with the design of their newest smart thermostat, the Nefit Easy. I was asked to design an intuitive user interface for the device that would go along in terms of look and feel with the stylish hardware that my colleagues were creating.
